Crochet

A new project

I always make my sister a new cardigan for her birthday at the end of August. She has a very specific shape she likes, cropped length, boxy, one button at the neckline and bracelet length sleeves. This shape is not hard to find in knitted patterns but I haven’t previously found a crochet one I like. But now I have. It’s Chevron Lace Cardigan by Milobo which is on Ravelry here.

I’ve had some gorgeous turquoise coloured Rowan by Amy Butler belle organic DK in my stash for a while and I think this is the project for it.

Unusually for me I am actually doing a tension square! I know! But I’ve never crocheted an adult cardigan and I’d like it to be perfect. Or rather as good as I can make it!

I don’t feel bad about starting this as I’ve had a spate of finishitis recently! I have the bench cushion still to do, but it’s so unwieldy I can only comfortably do a row or two at a time. But it’s so huge it’ll be done in no time. 😉

Then in July I’m running the Finish It Challenge with Stitches n Scraps and I’m intending to finish the blanket of guilt

Apart from that I have a little cardy to finish but that’s my current train project, which I may alternate with the giant doily tablecloth!! 😄😄

Either way I have plenty to do!

In other exciting news D’s new grand daughter was born today 🙂 I *may* have celebrated by buying some yarn in The Knitting Goddess sale…

Update… My swatch is too small! Half an inch too small… I need to buy a larger hook. Bloomin’ ‘eck.

  1. The cardigan pattern looks lovely the lacy look will work so well with the soft shades you have. Congratulations to all on the birth of the little one, she will be the best dressed little lady in town with all the lovely little cardi’s you have been making for her.
