WIP – Noro waistcoat

So, this is what I’ve been up to today!

With my 30 extra squares made, I sorted them, blocked them and made a start on assembling them into the panels to add to the waistcoat.

This is where I got to by dinner time:

I’m particularly pleased with the half squares, designed by Janet.

And during a break in beavering away on my waistcoat today, my sister painted my nails in this fab shiny purple blue long lasting polish.

Now time for veggie sausages and mash, a bit of work on the super easy star blanket for my adorable godson (who was 2 on Friday) and the results programme for Strictly. Life is good. šŸ˜Š

  1. Straight from the cloche hat to here – you have been super busy! I wish I could see Strictly – it was one of the programmes I loved when I had TV! And ‘Dancing on Ice’ do they still make that?

Any way – this waistcoat is looking fab! Your father will become the centre of attention whenever he wears it! I simply love it!

    1. Thank you šŸ™‚ I don’t watch Dancing on Ice (I think it us still on) but I love Strictly. šŸ˜„
Dad will love it I think – as long as it’s the right size… Something I need to make sure happens.

    1. I can’t wait for it to be finished! I’m going as fast as I can but its just something that can’t be hurried. I can’t explain what I mean, but it takes the time it takes which can be a little frustrating. Can’t do it when I’m tired or in a rush. Anyway, hope the main construction will be done tomorrow evening, then I think I need to add the button bands, armholes, edgings and THEN I have to sew All. The. Ends. In. šŸ˜±

      1. Thanks! That’s the first time I’ve been called cool for a long time! What I like about all the blogs I read is little glimpses into people’s lives alongside the crafting and I guess this is one of mine. X

      2. Oh I so agree. And I love reading about the weather and seasons in other people’s blogs, too. When we had all those crazy floods last winter (great for photos on the blog, I admit), I loved reading about American bloggers’ extreme snow and Australians’ heatwave, etc.

  2. Can’t wait to see a picture of your dad wearing your waistcoat. It’s looking fab šŸ™‚

Dancing on Ice isn’t on any more because Chris and Jane decided to retire after 10 yrs on the show. Well that’s what was announced at the start of the 2014 series but with telly who knows šŸ˜‰

We’re Strictly followers in our house and the right couple went out again this week. I do so wish they’d stop dragging out old stars to sing though. With the exception of Shirley Bassey last week, the voices of these old stars are well and truly faded and lack the power they once had. Barry Manilow sounded dire and looked like he’d had one nip and tuck too many :/

    1. Oh I am SO glad you said that. He looked appalling. The only old time act I liked was when Tony Bennett sang with Lady Gaga. That was bonkers and cool.
So who is the Muddy household family favourite? Mine is probably Pixie & Trent (so cute) though l do have a sneaky fondness for Simon and Kristina. But then all the ones left are brilliant pretty much! Though my favourite pro is Aljaz šŸ˜

      1. Kevin from Grimsby and Frankie simply because of geographical allegiances šŸ™‚ but Pixie and Trent and Mark and Karen are also being cheered on in Mudville šŸ˜€

Aliona is Muds fave pro but I like Brendon and Anton because they are such jokers šŸ™‚
