Mica Mitts

The gorgeous grey yarn I posted about on Saturday is Juniper Moon Farm ‘Herriott Fine’, a blend of baby alpaca and polyamide for durability. It feels gorgeous.

One of my lovely new colleagues feels the cold (unlike stout me who doesn’t!) and was saying her hands felt cold. I thought some hand warmers were in order. For her birthday in December if not earlier.

After a lot of research I chose Mica Mitts by Laura Nelkin.  Salpal from What I’m Up To Today introduced me to Laura Nelkin’s patterns at the beginning of the year and I’m definitely a convert. I’ve decided not to bead the ones I’m making as I don’t think beads would be my colleague’s style.  But the yarn makes up for it!

I think they’ll be nice and warm but pretty too.  And they’re on 2.5mm needles!

  1. Those are beautiful – and I like them without the beads. Glad you like Laura Nelkin as much as I do (I am wearing earrings and necklace from her patterns right now!) you will have many gifting options now. πŸ™‚
