Our family have had a glut of pompoms ever since we made loads of pompom decorations for my sister’s 40th birthday party in August 2015.
Today my niece Jess was tasked to make a wreath out of them…
Since I last posted I’ve been to the wonderful town of Loule, swum, eaten, frolicked in the sea, injured my knee, gained crutches and had enforced knitting time yesterday. Consequently I’ve finished granddaughter Emily’s Christmas present in record time!
What I was contemplating yesterday morning. Everyone else had gone dolphin watching. I was very happy!
Such pretty detailing on this pattern!
And ta-dah!

Model: my lovely sister!
My boss, who is absolutely lovely, has a big birthday coming up. In the office when we were discussing celebrating it, there was only one theme we could possibly have for her – rabbits! And that’s because she has 26 of them! Now I love my rabbits but 26 is dedication… Lots of us in the office are crafty and we decided to create rabbits if we could. One colleague has done the most incredible pencil drawing, another has made a fabric scarf. And I’ve knitted her a rabbit with a dress!
This is a really lovely pattern to make with no one piece of knitting being too long or too hard.
Pattern: Little Cotton Rabbits by Julie Williams
Yarn: Sirdar Snuggly for the head, legs & arms; Rowan wool cotton for the shoes, dress & pants; scraps of white and black.
Needles: 2.5, 2.75 & 3mm
My local yarn store has started its own hand dyed yarn line. They’re all named after Agatha Christie novels, characters and places. What’s not to love! At present they’re all on 4ply sock. The house yarn ‘A Murder is Announced’ in regular and self striping sock.
‘Sleeping Murder’, One of a kind colourway, ‘Greenway House’
The orange is ‘Evil under the sun’ and the blue ‘Murder on the Orient Express’
AAAAND! Maxine died this for me for my birthday!
And they’re doing stitch markers. I love this one
Fab 😊
I discovered this hashtag on Instagram recently and it made me laugh. But here is my contribution to it!
This one could be – although my nails don’t match my knitting!
And this one too! And that crochet was the start of this:
Yes, I’m starting early on the C word stuff. 😊
The previously mentioned hat… Just including this in case anyone thinks I’ve given up my yarn matching nail varnish!
And I’ve started a second poncho, this time for my niece, in King Cole Galaxy Chunky…
Oh and I’m making another Little Cotton Rabbit…
Plenty to keep me busy. 😊
I went a little crazy in the Countess Ablaze online store last week! This Aran weight one-of-a-kind colour way is intended to be a new Woolly Wormhead hat pattern:
And these are due to be a Stephen West Starburst shawl:Grey with neon speckles. I’m in love.
I’ve already cast on the hat – I’m doing the Fabales pattern – but I will save the shawl until my holiday in January (probably!).
