Hello folks. I probably won’t be posting as much as usual on here over the next month as there’s an election on and my council seat is up on the same day as the General Election… And as there won’t be as much knitting going on I won’t have as much to talk about! However having been ill earlier in the year and at the end of last year, I am having to be very careful and rest a lot so there won’t be no knitting! My lovely husband (who is also a councillor – we met the day we both got elected nearly 12 years ago) is doing a lot of the work for us both. For that reason I am not at all envious that he is currently on a jolly in France where it is 24C and there appears to be much beer being drunk!
I’ve also spent two of the last three nights filling in job applications (there has to be a job out there for me!) so that left no knitting time!
The knitting I do have to show is one of the two shawls I am making for the lace leaf KAL. This is destined for my friend Christine and is the lace leaf pattern! I’ve finished week 2.
And I have done one row of week 2 on Blackthorn!
Mollie says hi!
Actually that expression is more long suffering than anything else…
Good luck with your re-election campaign. I still have no clear idea who will get my vote this time because none of our local candidates have inspired me yet. The only thing I know for sure is that I WILL vote.
Also fingers crossed for your latest applications. I am sending lots of positivity and good luck vibes your way 🙂
Loving the look of your shawls and, as usual, loads of hugs and pats to the gorgeously hard done to Mollie 😀 x

Good luck with the election and the job applications. Sorry to hear you’ve been unwell. Shawls are looking good – love the pink yarn. Mollie is so lovely, my boy would adore her.

Thank you so much! I admit that the job hunt is more important as I am being made redundant but the election just takes up more time… Need to get my priorities right! Mollie sends a big Labrador hug your way!

Job applications on their own are a full time job, so I dread to think how much time the election takes 😦 Thank Mollie for the hug. Give her a cuddle from me. Mr Hicks sends you both a snuggle.

Good luck with the job applications! I’m doing much of the same, applying for everything I see!

4 weeks and I’ll be gone! I need a wage, a year and a half on £2 an hour was fine… But now Adam and I are engaged and planning a future we need two wages (even just both at minimum wage!). I’m killing myself working a second job at the same time right now 😦

Oh no I hadn’t realised. I wish you all the very best for your job hunt! I will try and pop over before you close though I’m knee deep in elections! Xx

Good luck with the election. Your knitting is as lovely as ever. I took your suggestion and worked the Lace Leaf on larger than usual needles. You’re right–it no longer looks like a mouse nest. A big hug and kiss for my favorite little Lab girl. Mollie sweetheart, your a doll.

Oh, good luck! Will you be kissing babies and reading stories to the local canines? But seriously, are you well on the mend?

HAHAHAHA no. I will be delivering leaflets, knocking on doors and working hard. I am maybe 80% back to normal but had a bit of a set back this week. Mollie comes with me a lot.

Elections and job applications; tough times! It’s good to have some knitting on the go to lose yourself in amongst all that stress. Shawls are beautiful too:)
